Mt. Esther Trail

If you're up for a challenge and love hiking, you should definitely check out Mt Esther Trail! It's one of my favorite local trails and is easily accessible by foot or car from the Lodge. Just a heads up, it can get pretty steep at times, but the stunning views at the top are totally worth it.

Pro-Tip

  • Utilize the All-Trails App for guidance along the way, as there are a few tricky spots.

  • Hiking Poles will make the trip back down the steep trail much more doable. I have personally bloodied a few knees with slips and falls.

  • Bring a portable hammock if you have one! There are lots of great places to stretch one out and enjoy the solitude and beauty of the Pike National Forest.
